Union Bank of the Philippines – Economics Research Officer

The Union Bank of the Philippines is looking to hire a research officer to be part of its Economic Research Unit as early as July 2023.

General Tasks

• Develops (and maintains) quantitative models for forecasting, simulation, and other types of analysis of macroeconomic and political economy developments in the Philippines (and also to include global and regional macroeconomic developments);
• Collects, processes and analyzes economic, financial, social and political data from a variety of databases and uses a variety of econometric and qualitative methodologies and visual presentations to present to the Bank’s internal and external clients;
• Contributes to developing ideas for topics as well as specific approaches to address those topics in a rigorous and usually quantitative manner that is relevant to the Bank and its clients;
• Works closely with the chief economist to deliver relevant publications and presentations in a variety of the Bank’s printed and electronic forms;
• Undertakes other ad hoc research and other assignments, including handling bespoke requests from internal and external clients of the Bank.
