PES Board elects officers for 2023

The Philippine Economic Society (PES) Board of Trustees elected its new set of officers for this year on 20 January 2023, led by Ateneo School of Government Dean, Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño, as President.

Meanwhile, Dr. Agham C. Cuevas, Dean of the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños College of Economics and Management, was elected Vice President. Dr. Alice Joan G. Ferrer, Dean of the UP Visayas College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Marites M. Tiongco, Professor and former Dean of the De La Salle University School of Economics, will serve as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Also comprising the PES Board are:

• Dr. Faith Christian Q. Cacnio, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
• Dr. Jovi C. Dacanay, University of Asia and the Pacific
• Asec. Sarah Lynne S. Daway-Ducanes, National Economic and Development Authority
• Dr. Ricardo L. Dizon, Polytechnic University of the Philippines
• Dr. Adoracion M. Navarro, Philippine Institute for Development Studies
• Mr. Emilio S. Neri, Jr., Bank of the Philippine Islands
• Dr. Ser Percival K. Peña-Reyes, Ateneo de Manila University

The immediate former President, Dr. Charlotte Justine Diokno-Sicat of the Asian Development Bank, will sit as ex officio member of the Board. Dr. Emmanuel F. Esguerra of the UP School of Economics, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of The Philippine Review of Economics, will also sit as ex officio member.
